PUNXSUTAWNEY PHIL

Remember Groundhog Day with Bill Murray- it was filmed in Punxsutawney Pennsylvania. That's where the groundhog festival is every year. They are having 25 artists decorate and design the art for a 6ft fiberglass groundhog. (Think of the Cows of Chicago that caused all the great news and tourism.) I have been given the honor of 'candying' up a 6ft groundhog, tentatively titled "Time and Again". It will be placed in front of the middle school in Punxsutawney for the next 5 years.

Downtown Abacus at Sunset

Using over 60 lbs of Jelly Bellys, (24,000 beans!), are in this architectural sculpture which has elements of a building in Albuquerque at sunset. The green strands represent the building, while the black and peach strands are the floors of offices at night with late night crew still working. The colorful strands of Jelly Bellys are brilliant colors of the electric New Mexico sky. Keys are tied to the end of all the strands for the doors of the offices; and the chain holding the piece in it's 3-dimensional shape is for the bike racks near the outside of the building.
