Delectable Events

SUGART events focus on exhibiting non-typical uses for sugars and candies. These uses, such as 'Frosted Fashion Shows' and 'Frosting Halloween' encourage people to experience all objects with a fresh perspective of their forms and uses.

'Recalling Spring' - 5' X 10' Mural at Jelly Belly CA

Using 65 lbs of Jelly Bellys, this mural is designed by SUGART for the 2500 audience on the Saturday before Easter. The guests are all invited to decorate the wall with their favorite candied easter eggs.

The design of the illustrative Easter Basket was designed by Stevie Famulari, and completed by herself, and artists Tim Quinn and Darryl Towles.

Downtown Abacus at Sunset

Using over 60 lbs of Jelly Bellys, (24,000 beans!), are in this architectural sculpture which has elements of a building in Albuquerque at sunset. The green strands represent the building, while the black and peach strands are the floors of offices at night with late night crew still working. The colorful strands of Jelly Bellys are brilliant colors of the electric New Mexico sky. Keys are tied to the end of all the strands for the doors of the offices; and the chain holding the piece in it's 3-dimensional shape is for the bike racks near the outside of the building.

CUE Workshop

Working with Children United by Experience and Randy Cooper, this workshop teaches children to create their own edible and wire mesh sculptures. Fun was had by over 70 children at this event.

Sante Fe Art Feast, Minkay Gallery,
Santa Fe, NM

Over 500 Confectionary sushi pieces added to the colorful event in which the community of Sante Fe and people from across the nation explore streets of galleries, enjoying the food and art-- and even the food art!

Montery Fairgrounds with GregAngelo/ Velocity Circus

Guests of Chomp Co. enjoy events at the festival by Gregangelo/ Velocity Circus (www.gregangelo.com) and SUGART. Desserts for the guests inclue cookies, candies and candy tattoos.

In My Head, Union Square, San Francisco

In this site-specific dance piece, dancers are decorated with sugar frosting. The hardened icing cracks off during the performance, falling to the ground, and is worn away by the steps.

Valentine's Frosted Fashion Show, Market & Powell

In this performance, models are decorated in sugar frosting and playful candies, in a great variety of colors and patterns. The frosted models leave a bright trail of colorful candies in their wake, as it breaks off their body in the catwalk.

2004 New Mexico Fiery Food Show

Stevie's company name, Sugart, combines "Sugar" and "Art" to sum up the edible arts that SUGART creates. She also makes "Chocolate del Diablo," spiced up with red and green chile.  Pictured here with artist Craig Chapman, and his Hub Cap Art.

NYC Chocolate Show 2004

SUGART booth at the NYC Chocolate Show featured Confectionary Sushi, Chocolate Hearts and Chocolate Roses. Over 30,000 people gather to enjoy the variety of artful chocolates. With neighbors like Jacques Torres and Guittard Chocolate- SUGART had an experience very memorable.

Red Hat Society

In a 2 hour workshop, members of the Red Hat Society learn to make their own chocolate hearts and edible sculptures. Using chocolate, candies and a variety of edible decorations, the participants have a great time working with chocolate.

Halloween at the Habitot Children's Museum, Berkeley

The colorful pumpkins were designed by the children, and taken home for enjoyment during the holidays.
