Edible Landscapes, Buildings and Murals
|
The Environmental Artworks on this site, are based on the movement started in the 1960's 'Environmental Art'. Still practiced today by artists such as Christo, Goldsworthy, Holt and Miss, this art is site specific with the piece being usually temporary or changing over time.
As part of this movement, the artworks of SUGART, are temporary without any harm or long term effect to the environment they are in. These pieces encourage people to 'see and experience' a space which sometimes goes unnoticed. Using the media of sugars and candies, people also engage in many of their senses, and then, with the addition of water, the artwork disintegrates, leaving the audience with an experience of the space.
